I am a visiting scientist from the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemünde (Germany).  During my stay in the Passow Lab, I am trying to develop a method to separate microplastic particles in sediment trap samples from the Gulf of Mexico. This is an exciting area of research as the transport and enrichment of plastic particles in the deep sea are still mostly unexplored.
